Marie Chouinard, a leading figure in Canadian dance, has created a new work set to Bach's Magnificat. Twelve dancers move across the stage in response to one of the composer's most substantial choral pieces, a work that has resonated through concert halls for centuries. Chouinard's career has been defined by her willingness to push the boundaries of contemporary dance, and this production marks an ambitious new chapter. The performance explores themes of spirituality, physicality, and human expression through precise, intense movement.
