The original Wonder Phone
Before everyone carried the internet in a pocket, Frederictonians had a number for that. CFXY-FM's Freddy the Radio Wonder Phone was the line you dialled for movie showtimes, sports scores, the lotto numbers and the forecast: the whole city's quick answers, one call away. It is one of those small local institutions people still bring up with a grin, which is exactly why the name was worth reviving.
How the new one works
Same idea, better brain. Call the number and speak naturally, the way you would ask a neighbour who happens to know everything going on in town. Behind the line is the same AI that powers Ask Freddy and this whole site, so it draws on the live events calendar, the 232 local guides and the city-service answers, then talks you through it hands-free. Handy for the drive, the kitchen, or any moment your hands are full.

Is it free to call, and is it always on?
It works like any regular phone call, so standard rates from your own provider apply and there are no premium charges from us. It is built to be available around the clock, so you can ask at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m. Prefer to type? The chat never sleeps either.
