David Francey spent his early years as a carpenter before turning to music in his 40s, encouraged by his wife, artist Beth Girdler. His 1999 debut album Torn Screen Door found an audience in Canada, and he's since become known for documenting the lives of working people through his songs. The Toronto Star has called him one of Canada's most revered folk poets and singers. Catch him at Charlotte Street Arts Center for an evening of his music.
