Fredericton is a small city with distinct pockets: a walkable downtown, a big family-heavy north side across the river, leafy established streets on the south side, a student hill, and a fast-growing commuter belt in New Maryland and Hanwell. Downtown & the Garrison District
The walkable core: cafes, the Playhouse, Officers’ Square, the Green and the farmers market. Where the city gathers.
North Side (Devon, Nashwaaksis, St. Marys)
Across the river: family neighbourhoods, big-box shopping on Brookside, and historic Marysville just upstream.
South Side residential (Skyline Acres, Sunshine Gardens, Southwood)
