Jean-Michel Blais composes music that doesn't settle into easy categories. A former special needs educator, he's built a career on pieces that unfold with deliberation and feeling, moving from his debut album Il through work for Netflix and Louis Vuitton, performances at Montreux and London's Southbank Centre, and a Cannes film score. His recent album Désert spent 25 weeks on the Classical USA Billboard charts and earned a JUNO nomination for Instrumental Album of the Year. This is a chance to hear him perform live at the Playhouse.
